- Good actors are masters of drawing audiences' attention through the use of speech, gestures and body movements.
- Being an actor is the ultimate free agent career; it's not for the faint of heart or those who crave stability.
Skills
- An important part of being an actor is creativity or an ability to think outside the box.
- Actors must be able to communicate with their voices and physically.
- Putting together any type of performance is almost always a team effort. Being a team player is a must.
Education
- Formal training at a dramatic arts school or through a college drama program is often necessary.
- The ability to sing and dance can be important.
Outlook
- It's no secret that competition is enormous in this field. There will be an opportunity to break into acting as more senior workers leave the field, but only the best of the best will be able to find roles.
